Nobility

Here is an overview of the noble families of Terre d'Ange. Main focus will be on Eisandine families, of course. If and as characters from other provinces come into play, more families can be added below. Additionally, new minor Houses are always welcome. Players with ideas for new Houses are encouraged to contact staff about it, to determine where they fit in.

Eisande

Eisande is the southernmost province of Terre d'Ange. It was founded by Eisheth and contains the city of Marsilikos, one of the most important cities in Terre d'Ange. Eisandines are often gifted in music and storytelling. The finest chirurgeons are said to come from Eisande. Mendacants, traveling storytellers, hail from there. The province is also home to a large Tsingani population that is better-tolerated there than in the rest of Terre d'Ange.

Scions of Eisheth will most often have exceptional talents in healing or in the arts.

Other Provinces

Houses of other provinces will be worked out as they come into play. The list below is therefore far from complete.

l'Agnace

L'Agnace is located in the south central part of the country, not far from the southern coastline. L'Agnace is landlocked, being bordered to the south by Eisande, to the southwest by Siovale, to the northwest by Kusheth, to the north by Namarre, and to the east by Camlach and Caerdicca Unitas. It was founded by Anael, who taught the people animal husbandry and farming and holds some of the most fertile territory in all of Terre D'Ange. It is a land rich with vineyards, orchards, and lush grazing land for cattle and sheep. The City of Elua, the capital of Terre d'Ange is situated within the province.

People hailing from this province are called l'Agnacites.

Azzalle

Azzalle is one of the northernmost provinces of Terre d'Ange. It was founded by Azza as his own, and like the founder of their province, its people fierce and proud. They are also skilled navigators and sail the ships of Azzalle's impressive fleet. The sovereign lands are held by House Trevalion, and have been since the founding of the nation itself, with the Trevalions cast directly from Azza's own line. Amidst the holdings of Azzalle is the city of Pointe des Soeurs, closest to the islands of the Three Sisters which are famous for once being the home of the Master of the Straits, and their mystical connection to the tides. Across the Straits lie Alba and Eire, making Azzalle the shortest point between the two nations and key to trade and relations.

People hailing from this province are called Azzallese.

Camlach

Camlach is the easternmost province of Terre d'Ange. It was founded by Camael. Camaelines are a hardy and fierce people. They frequently have to defend their province from Skaldi attacks. Because of this, it is commonly said that Camaelines think with their swords. Camlach is rocky, cold and mountainous. There are several forts along the Skaldi border. The Camaeline mountains form a protective barrier between Camlach and Skaldia, which is located to the east. There are only a few passes through the mountains. Camlach also shares a border with Caerdicca Unitas to the south.

People hailing from this province are called Camaelines.

Kusheth

Most of Kusheth is a peninsula, bordered on three sides by the sea. The westernmost point is known as the Pointe d'Oeste. Morhban is located there, and there is a temple to Kushiel on a small island off the shore. It is bordered to the east by Azzalle, Namarre, and L'Agnace and to the south by Siovale. Kusheth is a land of contrasts. The coastline is harsh and rocky, but the interior is lush and green. The Lusande River runs through the province.

This province has Kushiel as its patron angel. As such, people from this province tend to be darker in disposition, ready to administer punishment, or just to revel in pleasures of the sharper kind. There is an old rivalry between the ruling House of Morhban and the ancient House of Shahrizai who also hold the title of provincial duchy.

People hailing from Kusheth are called Kushelines.

Namarre

Namarre is very beautiful and fruitful, full of rivers and rolling hills. Many vineyards and orchards can be found in Namarre. Its wines are prized in all of Terre d'Ange and beyond. It is landlocked and shares no borders with other countries. Azzalle is located to the north, Kusheth to the west, L'Agnace to the south, and Camlach to the east. The River Naamah runs through the province, rising from a source in the earth. There is a shrine to Naamah there, and all of her Servants make a pilgrimage there during their lifetimes. Imriel's estate of Barthelme is in Namarre.
Nobility of this province has Naamah's blood flowing in their veins. And so, scions of Namarre will often be very charismatic, persuasive and seductive.

People hailing from Namarre are called Namarrese.

Siovale

Founded by Shemhazai, Siovale is one of the southernmost provinces of Terre d'Ange. As such, Siovale is a centre of learning, home to libraries and universities. Siovalese value knowledge and invention, and are often described as bookish due to their nearly universal enjoyment of learning. It is a common thing for even those not of noble birth to know how to read and write, something perpetuated by wandering priests of Shemhazai that roam the countryside. Noble houses in Siovale tend to keep to old traditions, such as sending middle sons to the Cassiline Brotherhood, more than the other provinces. There is at least one university dedicated to science in Siovale located in the holdings of the Comte de Rocaille.

People hailing from Siovale are called Siovalese.
