La Rose Sauvage - Parlor

A huge hearth of black marble, with gargoyles of stone adorning the mantlepiece, governs the foyer of the Salon de la Rose Sauvage, which emanates a certain dark air, the interior design of the more heavy sort, that could easily be encountered in a gentleman's club, especially with the dark cherry wood wainscoting used on the walls. Dark leather upholstery is predominant in the furniture of chaise longues, couches and long-backed chairs that are arranged in a half-circle, leaving space in the center for courtesans (or patrons) to kneel for an inspection. Three tall windows with circular stained-glass insets are framed by dark red curtains of heavy brocade, a few golden threads worked into the fabric catching occasionally the light of flickering oil lamps at the walls. The lamps light a pair of portrait paintings, of the two founders of the salon, Edouard Shahrizai and his cousin Annabelle no Mandrake, resplendent in their dark Kusheline appeal; and a cabinet in a corner, holding a number of quality wines and a flagon of uisghe.

The foyer has a high ceiling, and a gallery beyond a balustrade of dark teak wood, carved in the shapes of gargoyles. Sometimes a few veiled creatures can be spotted up there, stealing glances at what is going on below; from the gallery, which can be reached by ascending some winding stairs at the back of the foyer. Beside the stairs leading up is a hallway on ground level, leading further into the building to where the offices of the leader of the salon and his two Seconds can be found, along with the two wings of private quarters for roses of Mandrake and Valerian canon.

When looking out of the windows, you see: It is a spring morning. The weather is warm and drizzling.

Dante has awoken a bit early not having had an overly long assignation last night and makes his way into the parlor of the salon. He's got a cup of tea in hand likely from the kitchens as he finds himself one of the large comfortable chairs to lounge in as he watches the novices and adepts scurry about with their morning duties.

Denise is standing by the door to the gardens, dressed in a gown of dark blue silk with some strict corsetry built into it. She is gazing outside, but turns at the sound of someone entering the salon. Her head tilts to the side for a moment, then she gives a light smile, turning to give a light curtsy. "Good morning. You would be messire Dante, I think?"

Dante glances over at Denise and nods a bit, "I am." He eyes the Rose by the gardens, "By your looks I would say you would be the Adept Denise correct? I do believe you are to be one of our splendid Roses in bloom for the fete we have planned?"

Denise flushes ever so faintly, lips curling further "You are too kind" she murmurs. "But yes… I do look forward to see what second Severine will put together."

Dante smiles some as he sips on his tea as he slowly wakes up fully, "Oh I'm sure it will be amazing. I'm looking forward to seeing how each of you lovely Red Roses will be blooming." He eyes her a bit, "So many possibilities but I too love to see what your Second has in mind and how best to make that become a reality."

Denise chuckles softly as she lightly clasps her hands behind her. She arches her back ever so faintly, but enough to put a noticeable strain on her corset. "I think it was actually a conversation she and I had a while back that first made her come up with the idea. What of you, messire? Has she enlisted you to help prepare the artworks with which we are to dazzle the city?"

Dante smiles a bit, "She has yes. And rope art is one of my specialties from my years in House Mandrake before I came here." He motions towards one of the seats near him, "Come and have a seat before you bust that corset open." He grins a bit, "So what kind of experience do you have with full ropes? I'm not talking getting tied up but fully immobilized with ropes? Just trying to gauge the level of the blooming roses to see if they'll need some extra preparation before hand."

Denise smiles wryly "You may assume I don't wear corsetry unless I know it can take the strain" she murmurs, stepping gracefully toward the offered seat and sinking down onto it. "I have been in both restrictive and uncomfortable ropework before, though not so often I'd call it routine. I do have a fascination for the more elaborate patterns, though. I have made a bit of a study of ropes myself."

Dante nods some and smiles as she takes a seat, "I assumed you knew it would take the strain but I did have to take the opportunity to tease." As she talks of the elaborate patterns he nods, "That's my preference. The elaborate knots and patterns. From full body immobilization to just parts of the body to a harness that can be worn under a dress." He takes a sip of his tea, "Did you want a drink? And it's a pity that it's not often enough to be called routine if you have that much of a fascination it would be lovely to see how well you take to it."

Denise lips quirk faintly "Well, it is something of an arcane skill to expect in most patrons" she replies with a light shrub, graciously waving away the offered tea. "But yes… rope that is woven not just to bind but to present is a sublime thing. I evokes so many thoughts at once…"

Dante grins a wicked little grin and shrugs some, "I suppose you're right. I forget that I'm the one with the ropes when I meet with my patrons. And yes it's such a sublime and beautiful thing. Let me know if you wanted some extra time and practice. We can make it a lesson for some of the novices and adepts for both Thorns and the Reds."

Denise bites her lip ever so faintly, the faintest hint of a blush creeping over her alabaster cheek. She tosses back her dark hair a little, seeming to be considering the matter for a moment before she says "I suppose some additional practice can only be a good thing…"

Dante grins a bit at the blush and nods, "I would prefer to set it up through your Second of course. This way if she wished to observe or even set up more of our adepts and courtesans that will be taking part. And more practice is never a bad thing. It will only serve to make us all better at our duties."

Denise inclines her head ever so faintly, letting her gaze flicker over the salon for a moment. "And after all, being on display is part of the skill we aim to deploy…"

Dante nods some, "It is. And I think I know how I would display you Denise. But I think we need to see how you enjoy suspension." He motions towards her corset, "Full coverage like your corset. Yet still enhancing your assets. Fully wrapped in the ropes with flower patterns along your center and suspended, hands and arms immobilized legs and shoulders supporting your weight."

Denise listens intently to the description, a hint of color creeping into her cheeks again as she summons the sight before her mind's eyes. There's a hint of a playful glint in her gaze as she offers another coy smile and murmurs "Kind of you to offer me a hint of modesty…"

Dante grins a bit, "You're still an adept but I want to hint to more yet keep an exotic allure for potential patrons. I do plan keeping most of the flowers mostly modest. The goal is to urge deeper desire. I find the best way to do that is to keep an object of desire just barely out of reach."
