La Rose Sauvage

A huge hearth of black marble, with gargoyles of stone adorning the mantlepiece, governs the foyer of the Salon de la Rose Sauvage, which emanates a certain dark air, the interior design of the more heavy sort, that could easily be encountered in a gentleman's club, especially with the dark cherry wood wainscoting used on the walls. Dark leather upholstery is predominant in the furniture of chaise longues, couches and long-backed chairs that are arranged in a half-circle, leaving space in the center for courtesans (or patrons) to kneel for an inspection. Three tall windows with circular stained-glass insets are framed by dark red curtains of heavy brocade, a few golden threads worked into the fabric catching occasionally the light of flickering oil lamps at the walls. The lamps light a pair of portrait paintings, of the two founders of the salon, Edouard Shahrizai and his cousin Annabelle no Mandrake, resplendent in their dark Kusheline appeal; and a cabinet in a corner, holding a number of quality wines and a flagon of uisghe.%r%rThe foyer has a high ceiling, and a gallery beyond a balustrade of dark teak wood, carved in the shapes of gargoyles. Sometimes a few veiled creatures can be spotted up there, stealing glances at what is going on below; from the gallery, which can be reached by ascending some winding stairs at the back of the foyer. Beside the stairs leading up is a hallway on ground level, leading further into the building to where the offices of the leader of the salon and his two Seconds can be found, along with the two wings of private quarters for roses of Mandrake and Valerian canon.

Belladonna is in the process of offering refreshments to the current courtesans and nobles who are being entertained within this part of the salon. Though to most, she is a very new face with the Rose Sauvage given the fact that she only recently arrived from Kusheth to continue her training before her debut. Her dark eyes scan the room, perhaps looking a bit bored.

A giant man walks into the room. He looks VERY D'angeline but his tattoo's are Skaldic. The man moves over to the hearth and stares at one of the gargoyles. He puts his hands on his hips and narrows his eyes. He's wearing a black tunic which is rolled up over his elbows and tucked into his black trousers…and those are tucked into his leather boots.

Belladonna curiously looks over Fenris as she briefly purses her lips as she studies over him. Soon her feet move towards him, offering a soft smile that doesn't reach her eyes as she inquires, "Can I interest you in some freshments or conversation? Or are you waiting for someone I can go and get to you?" The platter containing glasses of red and white wine upon it at the moment.

Fenris turns his sharp blue eyes to her and grumbles quietly. "Silent guardians?" He questions about the gargoyles. He shakes his head to her about getting someone. "No. I'm debating on if this house and … fix me." He turns his eyes back to the gargoyle. His voice is growly and deep with a rich skaldic accent.

Belladonna glances to the gargoyle before she look back to Fenris a bit skeptical though kindly offers, "I suppose they are such. I am new to the city so I am not sure. I was brought here from Kusheth. And what is it you mean by fix you? What is it that you exactly seek?" Her eyes slightly narrowing on him before she asks, "Did you perhaps want to sit or would you rather just look at the gargoyles instead?"

Fenris turns his eyes to her again and growls slightly as he looks back to the gargoyle. "I'm broken." He speaks plainly. He turns and moves for the most comfortable seat. He stares a head of himself with a blank expression. "I had a bad life before I came here. Now things are broken." He grumbles annoyed. "I have tried a few things but I feel.. pain might be the only choice now."

Belladonna lets a hint of a smirk slip out at his words of broken, studying over him all the more as he moves to take as seat. She can't help but inquire, "Broken you say… re-breaking could help and would be quite… fun. Though if you were wishing for me to do it, you would have to wait until my debut. It is only a little over a month away though. But if you not rather wait, I could go and get one of the other thorns to tend to you." Her tongue wets her lips as she moves to take a seat nearby his but upon a seperate one." Though the desire to inflict pain is brimming in her eyes as she muses, "I imagine you would be quite fun in such things."

Helisson arrives from the Court de Nuit.

Helisson has arrived.

Fenris sees the look in her eyes and lifts a brow slowly. "Young one… you don't want me." He speaks softly. "You really believe that you could break me?" He leans closer to her. "I'd show you my back but you are too young for it. I've had men and women whip me until my flesh fall from my body. I've been stabbed with different things. My bones have been broken just to see how I work with the pain." He keeps his eyes on her. "I have been taken against my will since I was thirteen to the point that I don't know what consent is anymore and I accept the pain." He keep those cold eyes on her. "Do you really think you could break me?"

Belladonna has partially disconnected.

Belladonna rolls her eyes and snaps at him, "Excuse me, but are you in my head? And yes I /really/ do think I could. But you won't be able to find that out unless you buy my debut or wait until after now won't you? And trust, I am not easy on /anyone/." She rolls her shoulders as her aura grows a bit more intimidating as she purses her lips, her eyes almost boring there way into his as there is no warmth in her eyes.

"Fen. Fen. Fen. Fen. Fen." Hey, it's Hel, dawdling in from outside. She doesn't come into the city very often, and this sort of monotonous bleating is her usual call to find her flock. "Are you done? I'm bored and want to go back to camp," she slumps her shoulders and gives a sideways roll of her deep red eyes. She takes a moment to stare at Belladonna when she finds Fen in her company, but doesn't… say anything. Just stares. Not even quite at her, just sort of in her general direction.

Fenris keeps his eyes locked on her. He grins a little. "Who says I wish to pay for you at all?" He grumbles out to her. "Even if you don't take it easy on me… I doubt your soft hands could even damage me." He growls at her quietly. "You are what? A novice I'd say by your serving. I think if you ever met the couple that tore me apart, you'd break before they did." He lifts his eyes to his name and a familiar voice. "Hel. Hel. Hel." He bleets back at her. Sheep over here! When he sees her, he upnods her before waving her over to join them. "She's going to debut and she would like me to buy her so she can break me. What do you think about that Hel?"

Belladonna's cold eyes flit to look over Helisson curiously before she looks back to Fenris as she says, "Than don't. It is no loss to me truly. There are plenty of nobles who would adore to have my debut. If you aren't one of them then oh well. And I am a novice yes, hence me commenting upon my debut. Once I have the debut then I am an adept and if I were one, then I would be trying to get a consignment out of you now and not be speak of my debut. And I wouldn't break." Her eyes rolling as her bleats back and laughs a bit and explains, "You act as if you are the only one I make mention of such to. And my debut isn't for a month. Gives you time to think about if you truly want to be broken by me." A cocky smirk curling her lips briefly before it fades once more.

Helisson's eyes might be locked on Bell, too. Might. It's hard to tell when one of them is slightly crossed inward. It gives her a rather passive expression, on the whole, a neutrality of spirit to which she gives voice: "Not my problem," is her verdict on the courtesan problem. "Or, what, buy me a new greatword and I'll beat your ass for you for free, weh?" she adds with a twist of a dry grin as she lifts a hand to scratch behind an ear. "What do you fight with?" she asks the courtesan, next.

Fenris chuckles a little. "Eh I never win biddings so I don't bother. Stupidity is doing the same thing and expecting different result." He shakes his head. "Why would you be trying to get my consignment? Are you attracted to me?" He grumbles leaning in, baring his teeth slightly. He turns his eyes to Heli. "The break needs to happen where afterwards I'm not cut in half." He grins at Hel and shakes his head.

Piers has left.

Belladonna looks a touch confused at Helisson as she inquires, "Fight? I am a courtesan, we don't fight. My /instruments/ of choice are whips and paddles if you must know." Her attention back upon Fenris as she looks less than amused before she says, "You are the one who came in here seeking to be broken and yet… you ask me why I am trying to possibly get your eventual conignment once I debut. Obviously I enjoy causing pain, why would I not wish to have a consignment that does just that, especially if it is what one requested? Seems foolish to not."

Helisson doesn't see how anyone could break Fen without some sort of weapon or other… or at least not without being good at hand to hand combat. But she doesn't want to drag out any sort of conversation on the topic, so she just lifts her arms in a hapless shrug and looks to Fen as though asking if they can go yet. But then she gets distracted by some of the architectural details on the hearth and she wanders over there, instead.

Fenris lifts a brow. "I do seek pain to see if that will unbreak my body. Not my mind or soul has ever been broken. Please do not take offense because I do not know your training… I look at you and I do not feel such a young one will get the intricacies or subtleties of break this particular body." He touches his chest. "I think on anyone else, you'd break them well. This body?" He removes his hand from his chest and sits back. "Is so very wrong in every way." He warms her. He chuckles a little as Heli gets distracted by the hearth like he did walking in.

Belladonna curiously watches Helisson as she comes in and inquires, "Did you want a drink since you came inside?" Her tray still filled with wine for the moment at least, her attention refocusing upon Fenris as she listens and comments, "Curious thought process in such regards. And one should never underestimate whom they have in front of them. It is how you might get gutted before you realize what has happened. Now… either you will seek me out, or you won't. I can only wonder if your curiosity will get the better of you or if you will remain so close minded. Appearances are often misleading after all."

Helisson looks back over her shoulder, curling up her upper lip in thought at the question from the novice, then, after a moment's consideration, she shakes her head, and just sits down next to the fireplace, putting her elbows on her knees and slouching forward with a deep breath out half-trapped behind pursed lips, puffing out her cheeks.

Fenris grins a little at Belladonna and shakes his head. "I bid, I will lose. Happened every other time. It's about money not a challenge." He chuckles a little and sits back. "I would break you if I rolled on top of you." He warns her. "I am … much bigger than you. You might not have the ability to lift this fat arm up into ropes." He lifts his very muscled arm up before dropping it. "Though I could bid, just to lose again. Will be good for my self image." He pushes himself up and moves over to Hel. He get's down …REALLY low to look her in the eyes. "I heard you. We should talk at some point."

Belladonna points out to Fenris, "You only are thinking of my debut and nothing more. And as I mentioned, can always wait until after and again I repeat myself…." sounding a touch annoyed before she continues to say, "Appearance are decieving, you know not my training or what I am capable of, no one does and they won't until my debut. So that it upon you if you wish to already accept defeat and not fight for something you desire. Not upon me."

Helisson lifts her brows and raises her lopsided gaze to Fenris, then lowers her brows into a flat line again. "It wasn't me," she refutes his claim to have heard her, as though having been accused of laying down a fart. And he wants to talk? That draws up another shrug from her. "Go talk to the … nice flower," she guides him. "She'll be cheaper after the first one, so may as well try if you want," she encourages him vaguely from her slump.

Fenris lifts a brow a little at Hel and stares at her. He stands up and pats her shoulder. "Jealousy doesn't befit you. We should talk." He turns to Belladonna and tilts his head. He watches her. He grumbles something before speaking more to her. "Twenty years of being used, Flower. How would eight years of training beat that? Do I get money returned if you fail? It is a potential. You do have the drive to…break so perhaps you might get a noise or two." He grins a little. "Though I'd like my flowers to … be out for me as much as they are for themselves. You seem…" He grumbles again. "I am not sure of the right word."

Belladonna purses her lips as she stands up and takes her serving tray as she retorts, "If I weren't ready I wouldn't be debuting and it would be postponed. But that is not the case so you can doubt my skills all you wish. I know what I am capable of and able to do. Your loss if you not sate your curiosity. And I am only allowed so much liberty right now given I am a Novice. As an adept, I would be able to show you much more interest but. As a novice, no touching, no fraternizing. Apologies if this upsets you but it is the way of the Novice. Now if you'll excuse me, I have them things that need tending to else where. Be well and perhaps I will see you at my debut. Only time will tell." She doesn't wait really for a response back, handing of her serving tray to another novice as she heads within and up the stairs to her dormitory.

Helisson's features screw together as she's accused of jealousy, and when Fen turns to Bell again she pushes down on her knees and leans forward into a stand, lifting a hand to rub at her nose idly and then turning, herself, to walk clay-footed around the couch in a surly trod, not leaving, but getting ready to leave, especially since it seems like Fen's interview with the novice is winding up. She folds her arms by the door and waits for him.

Fenris grins a little at Belladonna. "Potential." He grumbles to her. "Hold your breath for my arrival, flower." He turns as she leaves and moves over to Hel. He grunts as he shoulder pushes her with a small grin. "Let's go talk." He speaks quietly to her.

Belladonna offers a hint of a smirk as she looks over her shoulder to Fenris and says, "I shall, I assure you." And then she disappears up the stairs.
