Aziza was sitting near a fountain, her hand reaching into the cool water as she looked to her reflection then. Licking her lips slowly, those kohl lined dark eyes of the Menekhet woman slowly moves to look up. Near her were two large Menekhet men that stood near her, obviously guards by the look of them. Rolling her shoulders she let out a sigh before speaking in her native tongue to them, a brow raising slightly as she does so.

*

Dressed in fine blue with gold embroidery suitable for going to the court of the Duchess, Augustin rather confounds that first statement by stepping out of the court in to the cool day. He pauses to look around for a moment, and raises an eyebrow when he sees the obviously foreign woman with her obviously guarding guards. He offers a polite bow as he steps by, out of respect.

*

Aziza catches a glimpse of the man through her seemingly on guard sentry. Standing up, she shakes her hand dry as she looks to her guards. Speaking to them again, they seem to truly relax though she gives them a roll of her eyes. Exhaling softly she then gives the man a smile, bowing her head then. "….hello there. Forgive me….I was in my own world it would seem….."

*

Augustin is carrying a sword! There may be good reason for them to be nervous. He does give a little bit of a smirk at the guards relaxing. "I mean your Mistress no harm," Augustin reassures. "It is quite alright, my lady. I did not mean to intrude if you do not wish to be intruded upon. Augustin Trevalion," he introduces himself.

*

Aziza chuckles softly as she shakes her head. "I'm sorry but they do not speak your tongue." She then translates what he had said to them before turning her gaze back to Augustin. "No need to apologize. We are in a slightly public area I would say….so it was bound to happen." At that she makes a fist and puts it to her chest with a firm nod. Ambassador Aziza Nimr from Menekhet……a pleasure to meet you."

*

"A pleasure, your Highness," Augustin offers, bowing again. "I made a very brief stop in your lands once, but didn't get to stay as long as I would have liked." He offers, before he looks to the guard. "Hellene, perhaps, for them? Maybe Akkadian? If the second I can tell them dirty jokes, but if the first I never picked it up."

*

Aziza blinks at the greeting as she raises her brow. "Highness?" A tilt of her head then she laughs. "I think you're mistaken…." Raising a hand she tucks some of her long hair behind her ear then. "I think I'm what Her Grace said in your lands is a lady…." A smile as she shakes her head then. "They only speak our tongue of Menekhetan I'm afraid. Thank you for trying to include them but…..they are focused on their duties…..not learning another language…at least not yet." A firm nod and then she smiles. "Looking around she seems to be in though then nods. "I hope I'm not deterring you from somewhere…."

*

"I had heard that you were a branch of the royal family of Menekhet, but I may have misunderstood the family tree," Augustin allows with a little smile. "If so please forgive me." He shakes his head. "No, unfortunately my business was concluded. I was trying to apologize to Her Grace for being called away from Beziers to meet with my cousin Regina. Who decided to sail on right to Beziers anyway," he offers with a scowl.

*

"Oh…I…." Aziza seems to be in thought then as she hears him. "Perhaps….I'm a cousin….." A beat. "Who did you hear it from." Licking her lips she then raises a brow as she heard who his cousin was. A tilt of her head as she gently folds her arms under bosom in thought. "And yes….I know your cousin. I ran into her in Beziers….I was shocked to say the least." Chuckling softly she tilts her head. "She traveled to my home as well with a court visit once. She was entertaining to say the least."

*

"Rumor and gossip about the city, filtered through my own misinformation apparently," Augustin offers with a shrug and a smile. "Yes, well," Augustin says, rolling his eyes up to the sky. "My family is unique in its ability to be shocking, my lady. I just stab people, so I am relatively tame by their standards."

*

Aziza lets out a soft laugh in that husky voice of hers. "Oh now you must humor me, my lord…." A playful wink tugs at her lips as she hears those words. "Are there gossip and rumors about me?" Smirking she then looks around a moment then back to him as she laughs. "Just stab people? Well I couldn't play it off so casually. If I know correctly your cousin is rather charming….and good with some fans…"

*

"Well," Augustin offers after a moment of deliberation, "A beautiful foreign woman related to the Royal family comes in injured from a bandit attack, and it is going to spread throughout the city." He shrugs. "After enough war it loses its glamour and I tnd to gloss it as just a great deal of stabbing," he shrugs. "Oh, Regina is good with many things. Fans, ruining timetables," he offers wryly.

*

Chuckling softly she just shakes her head. "Well…I suppose most of that is true…." Aziza gives him a smile then as her hand moves to her side. "I didn't expect to cause that much of a stir. In fact…I wasn't supposed to be here at all…." Pursing her lips she she seems to think for a moment then nods. "And that I can understand. Stabbing it shall be then. Though as for your cousin….yes. She's….a handful."

*

Augustin grins wryly at that. "A handful is on way of describing most of my family. She is better than most, and some day you'll probably meet Louis and he is charming." He shakes his head. "I don't have the best relationship with my family to be commenting on them, so you should probbly just ignore it. Where were you supposed to be?"

*

Aziza lets out a laugh now as she shakes her head. "She seems to be intent on me meeting so many of her family. It's almost….unnerving." A wink is given to him then as she laughs. "I have not heard of a Louis yes." A wave of her head and she then exhales softly. "I will do no such thing. All opinions will be heard….despite the relationship. It's called different perspectives." There was a light shrug given to him then as she smiles. "I was supposed to be in the City of Elua….but this is as far as I made it."

*

"Louis de Trevalion is the Sovereign Duc of Azzalle; my uncle, Regina's father," Augustin explains with a shake of his head. "Ah, the capital. I was there before I came to Marsilikos. I had my last duel there. Will you be traveling that way after you have recouperated?"

*

Aziza nods. "Ahh….her father. That's right…." A wave of her hand as she chuckles. "I thought I would remember his name after these years but I guess I was wrong." Chuckling she toys with her hair a minute hen nods. "I do not know. I wrote home of my status so I am seeing what the Pharaoh wishes me to do…." Closing her eyes she takes a deep breath then smiles. "….so it is the waiting game."

*

"Well, if you're fine with the hurry up and wait game then you are definitely ready for the Capital," Augustin rolls his eyes. "And how are you finding the Jewel of Eisande while you linger here? It is said to be one of the finest of our cities, and some locals claim it even rivals the capital. Mostly the ones who haven't been there," he comments, although in an amused and teasing tone.

*

Aziza was simply wrapped in a myriad of sheer white silks that gave a hint of her form underneath. With that large gold Usekh collar around her neck, it matches perfectly with the gold adornments of beads carefully placed in her long dark hair. Kohl lined eyes make those brown eyes appear more stark against he'd sun kissed kissed. Upon her feet were simple golden sandals that were simply held by thin leather straps that wrap around her ankles and stop just below her knees.

*

Aziza sighs a bit as she shakes her head. "Well…." A small smile tugs at her lips. "It is a lovely city. I have only run into one person that my origin has put a bad taste in their mouth but it is neither here nor there. Bridge under the water as they say…." Exhaling she just waves a hand then smiles. "So….I wouldn't know of the capital. I was supposed to go but…here I am instead. So if the is a hint….I'm sure Elua is beautiful."

*

"Close enough," Augustin allows to the slightly misplaced idiom, chuckling. "Well, I hope you get to go there in time. It is…Marsilikos is magnificent and gorgeous, warm and inviting. The capital has a grandeur it cannot match; if Marsilikos is the Jewel of Eisande, Elua is the diamond of the nation."

*

Aziza slowly looks behind herself for a moment then back to Augustin. "Well once I hear back from my Pharaoh….I will know what my next steps are. I am sure I will be at 100% by then and since I can already draw my bow again…..I"m well on my way." A playful wink is given to him then before she lets out a soft yawn, that hand coming to her lips. "Oh for forgive me…."

*

Augustin laughs a littl bit at the yawn, and he shakes his head. "Nothing to apologize for, my lady. Do you need to go? Or are you in search of a way to stay up?" He asks wryly, raising an eyebrow.

*

Aziza chuckles a bit. "I need to stay away…." A slight smirk tugs at her lips as she nods. "Any suggestions? Perhaps something of your lands?" A tilt of her as she was clasps her hands in front of her then. "Or else I may fear I may just go to sleep right here."

*

Augustin grins a little bit. "Well, my preferred methods when beautiful women are falling asleep on me are to either be more interesting or start surruptitiously tickling them when they start to doze. I worry about the second given your guards—not that I don't like my odds, mind you, but that's more excitement than I'd care to enjoy at this time."

*

Aziza laughs as she hears that. Stepping closer to him she just shakes her head. "They do tend to be on edge since my attack but…I think you can manage being more interesting." Winking to him playfully she nods. "Not sure if it is possible but…..you may try. Tickling me however…might get a response from the men."

*

Augustin grins, and doesn't protest her coming closer. "See, more interesting might involve dueling your guards for tickling you," he teases, before he shakes his head. "Perhaps not, although it would hardly be the most scandalous thing I've done." He grins. "But don't be too sure…my sister's guards when I was growing up seemed to think it was occasionally acceptable if she'd earned it."

*

Aziza laughs as she motions to the two large men behind her. "By all means….if you wish to spar them…." Those kohl lined eyes glance to them with a smile before turning her attentions back to the lord in front of her. "But we all grew up together and trained together. Not sure if you would have more of a challenge with them….or myself. Then again….I cheat when it comes to swordsmen."

*

Augustin glances back to the men in a look that's almost…casual. Unconcerned. "I'd be happy to at some point. And I would be happy to spar with you at some point as well. If I seem somewhat dismissive of your fine gentlemen it is meant as no disrespect. Many account me the best swordsman in the Kingdom, and that comes with a bit of blase about any individual bout."

*

Aziza chuckles softly as she shakes her head. "I think it would be unfair if I were to spar you, my lord…." A beat. "I would hate to hurt Reina's cousin….." That playful smirk still tugs at her lips then. "But….perhaps one day. And it is alright. Most swordsmen that are the best are the best of /that/ kingdom….." Grinning she then winks before turning slightly. "I think it would be fun….a tournament of champions…..from different kingdoms…."

*

Augustin snorts, and rolls his eyes. "Let it be said of my life I spent it caring not about the minor concerns of my cousin," Augustin offers with a shake of his head. "Well, that only works if you are claiming you or your guards are the best fencer in the Pharaoh's lands?"

*

Aziza raises here brow then. "….fencer?" There's a moment then as she nods. "Oh oh yes. I am no swordsman. My guards are….however I feel my Pharaoh is the best swordsman…it would only be fitting." A light shrug is given. "As for me….I'm an archer. I tend to stay far away and shoot…hence why with me it would be cheating."

*

"Ah, well that explains it. Yes, archers cheat, and I only tend to forgive them when they're on my side," Augustin offers with a wry shake of his head. "Still, if your gentlemen would like to spar some time I would be happy to test their skill with the blade."

*

Reina makes her way down the steps into the courtyard just in time to hear Augustin and her voice is amused and delighted as she speaks loud enough for the pair to hear. "Auggie, you think everyone cheats unless they can match your blade.." She seems to be teasing her favorite cousin as she moves towards the pair with that swaying almost dancing bounce to her steps that has been there for so very long. Aziza gets a bright smile and a wink.

*

Aziza chuckles softly. "Then call me a cheat, my lord. But my parents trained me to be a diplomat….not a fighter. However they did not want their daughter to be without defenses…..so my father taught me the bow. Then the Pharaoh gave me a detail when I'm traveling." That's when she hear's Reina's voice and she laughs a bit. "Let a man be proud. It is good to be proud of one's prowess…" A wink is given back to the woman before looking back to Augustin.

*

"Heaven help us, she found us," Augustin offers with a shake of his head as he turns toward his cousin. "You were supposed to take a boat directly to Marsilikos, Reina; that's why I was pulled out of Beziers. Instead you went to Beziers, and I was left cooling my heels here while people were fighting for my cousin's lives. Why the change in itinerary?" He looks back to Aziza. "Only archery is cheating," he clarifies. "And only when its on the other side, as I said. Our archers are noble and stout."

*

Reina glances towards Aziza and just motions at Augustin's words as if to prove why she has to tease him. But Reina gives him a very long look before she steps up and just hugs him tight. She lays her head on his chest and sighs softly, "I was worried about you as well Auggie.." She then steps back as she looks up at him. "We were always to stop at Beziers, to pick up some trade goods, Father added it at the last moment. But we were running late and arrived when all was happening, then came here.." See it's her Father and the weathers fault, not hers at all, nope not at all.. She looks up at him with those beautiful stormy eyes and then gives him a smile that he remembers from the many times she ran after him to learn the sword, and nagged him to hell and back.

*

Aziza raises her brow. "Oh? Then what kind of of archer am I then?" A tilt of her head before she looks to Reina. Stepping back, she let them have their moment. A smile tugs at her lips then as she watches them but just looks to the side at her men. Murmuring to them in her native tongue she then shrugs a bit then. The two men nod to her and seem to finally give her some space.

*

Augustin chuckles. "Well, you fought on the side of justice in Beziers, so that puts you on our side unless things change later." He looks back to Reina. "If my dear Uncle is going to add things to the itinerary he could do us the favor of giving us enough time to prepare for it properly, so I don't look quite so much like a jackass when I'm waiting at the docks for hours. And not bringing the murderer's of Desarae's family to justice." He sighs. "Are you settled in?"

*

There is a soft sigh as she drifts over to Aziza's side and just wraps an arm around her waist to settle against her. Yep, she does. But to Augustin she nods slowly, "I am sorry Augustin, Father did not even mention you would be waiting or I'd have sent a message. But I will speak with him. As for settling.. yes, I am back in my room in the Palace. But I've had the Townhouse set to receive those of the family. Your suite should be to your liking.." She is very.. Duchess to be like, other than wrapping that arm around the Ambassador.

*

Aziza glances down at the woman as she feels that arm around her. A brow raises but she chuckles as she wraps an arm around her shoulders. "You never stop causing trouble….do you?" Laughing she looks over to Augustin then. "Has she always been like this?" A wink is given to the man before she continues. "But…she's a dear friend. Even taught me how to dance with fans it would seem."

*

"I'm looking at homes in the city to set myself up in," Augustin offers, by way of explaining his plans for a suite in the townhouse. "I'm gllad you're settled in and I'm glad that Uncle Louis is well." He nods to Aziza. "Oh yes, she's been like this her whole life. Her and my older sister Margret are quite a tear when they get going."

*

Reina bats her lashes at them both before she smiles as they speak about her. "I am who I am. I will not apologize for it. You both know I would have been a dancer if things were different. So do give me a little leeway in my whimsy." That smile returns and she just relaxes against the Goddess of Exotic that is Aziza.

*

Aziza snorts a bit as as she shakes here head. "Oh goodness there's another like her? How do you survive?" At that she lets go of the woman though she was still being held onto. Chuckling she looks down at her then back to Augustin. "She's become like a sister to me even after these years. Reina was quite the stir at the palace….and more so to my guards when she started to teach me the fan dance. My head guard Nazir is still sore about that."

*

"I ran away to join the army, was caught and forced to become a Marine in the Navy, and spent most of the rest of my life away from the Kingdom," Augustin answers solemnly, shaking his head. "See what I mean about occasionally guards allowing minor harm from relatives to their charges, because they've earned it?"

*

Reina hugs Aziza once and then stands up on her own as she reminds her. "And I did invite him to.. talk.. over the matter of his upset. There were reasons that if you were going to learn anything to defend yourself till they could get to you, it would be the "innocence" of the dance and the fans.." She still stands on that as she glances towards Aug. "And see how you came out?" He might be older but she will pick at him as much as she cares to. It's always a game to see when he snaps or gives in.

*

"Yes, I came up fine, and my fine-ness increases with distance. My letters were always lovely and complimentary, belying the jaded cynic within," Augustin points out with a beleagured sigh. "I hadn't heard you scandalizing foreign courts by teaching racy dances. How did I never have to come rescue you?"

*

Aziza chuckles a bit as she shakes her head. "She was with an envoy to the palace. I guess she was entertaining enough to not have to be rescued." Laughing softly she just folds her arms under her chest as she shrugs a bit. "But…I digress. She was was lovely…" Looking to Reina she tilts her head. "….you came with your father? Remind me…."

*

"My father and a few others from our land. It was half envoy and I believe half holiday…" Reina narrows her eyes at Augustin. "Because many find me charming, I am my father's daughter and while politics is not my bread and butter, I do know more than most.." She stands up straight and sighs. "But.. people seem to like me. If that is the case, I see no reason not to share skills one such as an Ambassador might need. And it is not racy, it's useful.." With that and faster than most could follow she snaps out a fan from her side and the bladed edges shine in the sunlight.. She holds it far enough from Azi that her guards don't go nuts. And her own guard simply look more attentive.." She flips the fan in her fingers and holds it out to Auggie while she holds the bladed part.

*

Augustin snorts. "Half envoy and half holiday sounds about riht," he offers with a shake of his head. "I wonder where I was in the world at this time." He nods. "Yes, people seem to like you, however baffling it appears to the rest of us." He watches the fan come out, and the blades shine. "Yes, I figured it was something aggressive rather than just racy, but you can be both racy and useful, dear."

*

Aziza looking between the two she steps back then. "Well…" Bowing to the pair, she puts a fist to her chest as she does so then stands up straight. "I should let you two catch up. It seems you do have some things to catch up on and I would hate to intrude…."

*

Reina shakes her head gently, "Aziza, please. If you would be so kind as to take my Cousin for a drink, maybe at the Wine Cellar? Simply say that I sent you and you are to be given my favorite alcove and wines. I sadly have business I was on my too. I can bug Augustin later.." She says with a chuckle and yes she just throw them together before she escapes.

*

Augustin chuckles and shakes his head. "And thus she goes, just like she always does," Augustin offers with a snort. "If you are still tired, my lady, please don't feel like you need to entertain me just for my cousin's sake."

*

Aziza chuckles a bit as she looks to him. "I feel she was trying to get you to entertain me so that I do not grow bored of Marsilikos and stay longer." A shake of her head then she smiles. "But as you said….do not feel obligated. She means well…."

*

Augustin grins a little bit. "Well, then I would be happy to entertain you if you wish. Do you want to go to a tavern?" He asks wryly. He nods. "She does mean well. She is just used to being the most important person in the room, and getting her way."

*

Aziza chuckles as she laughs. "Sure?" A shake of her head as she smiles. "I don't know what she's meaning so well then. But good for her…..I wouldn't know about that. As an Ambassador I'm just….kind of just….here?" With that she motions for him to lead the way. "Have a place in mind?"
