After receiving word from Ezio, there was a while before she sent back a reply. Aziza didn't know who he was, what he was, or anything about and of course decided to tell him to meet her in the courtyard of the palace. So there she stood with her long dark hair cascaded around her shoulders, her kohl lined black eyes peeking out. Wrapped around her form was sheer white silk that seemed to be held up by just that large gold Usekh collar that matched the gold adornments in her hair. Standing next to her were two large Menekhet men that were obviously her guards, who were only a few inches taller than her as she was almost six feet herself.

*

Upon first appearance it might be of some surprise that the Vicomte de Bastia is a man taller than she is by a head. The man that walks with a casual confident swagger into the garden puts off an air of supreme confidence and capability. His eyes shifting to eye the two large Menekhet men up like he might disregard them altogether. The Vicomte comes dressed in muted colors this spring moring, a simple pair of trousers tucked into his boots with a white blouse that laces at the throat, and a red and gold brocaded jacket with a high collar with coat tail that settles down around the back of his knees. The smile that appears when he finally takes in Aziza is warm, welcoming and when he finally gets into polite conversational range he speaks, "Ambassador, it is finally good to meet you."

*

Lazily she looks over towards the man entering as she hears his footsteps and simply nods as he approaches. Softly that husky voice speaks to her two guards in their native tongue of Menkhetan, giving them a slight smile. The men take two steps back but she simply steps forward to meet the man. Bowing her head to him she then extends a hand wit a smile. "Vicomte de Bastia? A pleasure…." Motioning to a bench Aziza simply turns and starts her way over there. "….so how may I help you?"

*

When presented the hand is taken and a proper bow is given as he kisses the back of it and provides a polite squeeze. He smiles warmly to her before she turns and he casually rests a hand on the bound hilt of his sword as he follows in her wake, "A like pleasure, my Lady." he takes note of the two departing and then focuses his attention on her as the get to the bench, "I had heard that there was some unfortunate business for you coming here. I thought to inquire myself to get the details, if you are not opposed to speaking with me about the events."

*

That brow raised at the kiss, she slowly pulls back her hand and continues for that bench. "Ah….that is right…." Aziza chuckles softly as she just shakes her head playfully. Slowly she sits down, crossing her legs but gently pulling that fabric over the legs that was exposed just momentarily. Looking him over she is quiet at his request, that head tilting slightly. "Hm." A beat. "What is it you wish to know? I am still having to fully debrief her grace but as you know, she has many things to attend to. Besides….there is not a lot to tell I am afraid, Vicomte…."

*

"Well I wanted to actually find out where the event occured. There are quite a few rumors and I would like to settle them up with an accounting of what happened from you. From what I understand, you were assaulted, coming through Caerdicci?" the question hangs a moment, "You see my lands are bordered along the Caerdiccian lands and if your path would have brought you through my own this means that it is a responsibility I want to get a hand on. And if it occured with those who I seek to trade with…well. That might create a whole new path of problems."

*

A slight smirk now tugs at Aziza's lips as she hears his explanation, her hands carefully moving to her lap. "I started my assignment in the middle of Caerdicci, did some traveling per my Pharaoh's orders then started northward. I was in north Caerdicci not terribly far from the border I don't believe when we were attacked by what appeared to be raiders. I was able to escape but I lost most of my caravan." Looking to the side, her lips purse slightly as her hand moves to her side idly. "The few of us left were able to fight them off long enough to escape and make our way here. The City of Elua was my destination but…now I am here to recuperate and sent word back home of my status to see what will want to be done."

*

Well that does cause the Vicomte to frown for a moment and then he nods, "Raiders are a problem. Do you know whose lands you were in when you were raided? Had you recently passed through a local city or provincial capital to know?" it is now that he is talking with her the man settles down on a seat next to her, adjusting for the blade on his hip before he shifts rotating his body towards her and tilting his legs in her direction, signs of full attention, "Notifying the House of the problem is the first step to making sure you are not the only victim."

*

"I do not…." Keeping her hand on her side she just sighs a bit. "I was resting when it began and he had not been to a city in about two days." Aziza finally looks back over to him with a smile then. "Needless to say we were caught off guard. I feel if I had not been asleep I would still have most of my caravan still…." Pursing her lips she then seems to be in thought. "I can ask the young man that happened upon the skirmish and see if he knows who's lands it might have been. I may speak the language but do now know the smaller land owners….just the areas I was sent to."

*

Ezio gives a slow nod, "No no it is quite okay. I think that it is possible to learn otherwise." he tilts his head and he says, "Sometimes, my Lady, there is nothing that can be done. We live with what happened. Do not guilt yourself over what you did or did not do. The past is where it should be. Now look forward." he motions, "You are here in our lovely city. I hope that you can make the best of the time here and find some good opportunities."

*

"Are you sure?" A tilt of her head as she lets her gaze stay upon him, those brown eyes focusing. "And you are correct. I am waiting to get more information and speak with her grace before I send my letter home of my status. I do hope I can find some things to entertain myself….." Aziza lets out a sigh, chuckling softly as she looks up to the sky. "One can only read so much of another land's customs and cultures so I do hope to get to learn more. It is just a matter of hopefully finding someone that is willing to put up with someone new to the lands." Slowly she glances back to him and smiles. "Good thing that I was taught the tongue here…or this might have been more awkward than it already has been."

*

Ezio chuckles softly, "Well my Lady, I would be glad to learn something new and if you think yourself a proficient teacher, I would be more than open to learning the language of your homeland. Which means that I likewise would not mind spending more time with you. If nothing else," he motions and adds, "it means less reading and pretty gardens to spend time in."

*

Aziza has partially disconnected.

*

"Oh you wish to learn my native tongue?" That dark brow raises as she seems to be….impressed? "And what need would you have for a such a thing, Vicomte….?" There was a playful wink given to him then as she finally moves her hand from her side that she favored ever so slightly. "Of course I am just teasing. If you sincerely wish to learn, I can hardly deny someone that wishes to expand their horizons. Too bad that you do not have a tongue you can teach me as well…." The young Menekhet woman finally raises a hand to push that long dark hair out of her face so both eyes are fully visible. "And spend more time? Whatever for? Hoping that I remember something? Or to watch me explore the city with child-like wander…" Aziza lets out a soft laugh as she nods. "Regardless…I would be honored."

*

"My Lady there is nothing about you that is childlike." Ezio laces his tone with a warm compliment as he looks her over, "And while I have no language to each I have other appreciable skills that might be shared." he shifts in his seat and then settles again as he leans in and rests his elbows on his knees. He smiles wider as he nods, "I do wish to learn. And no better teacher I think could be found right now. So I will explore the city with you. You will teach me, and both of us shall be honored."

*

Aziza chuckles softly as she casually folds her arms under her chest. "And what other 'appreciable skills' would that be, Vicomte?" Those brown eyes slowly look him over then, her gaze landing on that sword for a moment before moving back to catch his own eyes with her own. "Know that I do not teach my people's words lightly…" A wink is given to him then. "And that sounds wonderful. Perhaps I can find a gown of your style here to purchase. I was loaned a robe when I first arrived but I do not understand how one is to move in it and wield a weapon. It is near impossible…."

*

"Well. I am quite good with my swordwork." Ezio touches the hilt of his sword and then smiles as she looks him over, "I am well regarded as far as hosting parties goes. And I seem to have a fine appreciation of things of high quality…and good taste." he says smiling with the wink given to him, "I think it best to say, time with me will tell." his smile broadens, "Fighting in just robes maybe. But I would recommend men's clothes for ease of movement if you want to wear a weapon. Or something light in the way of a dress that is close fitting. Fashion is something I am not well suited for but I do know someone who keeps up with the trends."

*

"Well I will keep that in mind. I prefer the bow to be honest….but could always learn the blade….." There was a look of contemplation that tugs at her features and then she just nods a bit. "And parties? Oh I see….I have not been to a function here. I know I am going to the ducal court but….that is it." Licking her lips she exhales a bit then smiles. "And I think….I may stick to my garments for now. I have not carried a blade since I have been here and I have my gear with me but…no need." Aziza listens to his suggestions then nods a bit. "Okay….so if you had to make a suggestion of where to go first in the city, where would you suggest? I found the market already…I ventured to look at the….Court de Suit but that was brief."

*

"Yes parties. Functions. Dances. Balls." Ezio waves with his hand, "In the end most of them are the same. People gathering around liquor and rich food to talk about nothing or hide away to talk about business they could have met at any other time to do." he smiles and then furrows his brows, "Mmm. I think your choice of clothing might just set off a trend itself. If you find young ladies coming up to you wanting to feel the fabric and ask about the design, do not be surprised." he leans back then and pushes his hips out so he can stretch his legs out and then leaves them there while he rests his hands over his belt, "I know a few good places…," he says and spends a bit of time telling her some of what he considers the best places in the city to visit. Most of them are taverns. Because they have good food or good beer.

*

Aziza chuckles softly as she nods. "And I am assuming that all that goes to these parties are escorted by their partners or courtesans? I have been told so much of the ways of this Court de Nuit. It was even suggested I have an escort to the ducal court….a courtesan. However I would rather not pay for someone to suffer me…..but want to." Smirking she just slowly stands then, a slight wince but she quickly replaces it with a smile. "And…that is fair. I know my dress is different. If they were to see the rest of my wardrobe they may want to take it." Turning to look at him fully she smiles down at him warmly. "I will have to explore these places you tell me of. So far I have only had wine from your lands here. I do wish to see what else there is…."

*

When she stands he stands up as well and rests a hand causally on his sword pommel while he expresses with the other as he talks, "Not all but most yes." he gives a slow nod, "Some people keep a courtesan on retainer for that purpose or for other reasons. They may be good with art or have other skills." he smiles to her, "But if you are not wanting a courtesan escort I will accompany you. It is not often I get to attend the ducal court. And besides, I may be able to thwart interest in those who would want to feel you up while getting a notion of your clothes." he chuckles softly, "That is if you would like."

*

"I have heard of these other skills. I merely wish for…a massage. It has been too long to say the least…." Exhaling she smiles then steps to him to seem to look him over. Licking her lips nods and chuckles a bit. "I would be honored….and flattered….but it seems that another has insisted as well. However….if you are there…..we can still talk perhaps?" Aziza gives him a nod then chuckles. "Perhaps you can still thwart those attempts to touch me. I would hate to accidentally break someone's hand….I am still a bit on edge after my attack…."

*

"Well then I have lost out to another this time." The Vicomte smiles warmly, "Be assured, my Lady, that I will be more than happy to speak with you anytime we encounter one another. Merely approach if I do not see you and you see me first." he then tucks his hands behind his back, "As for a massage…that is one of the skills that most courtesans can perform. You should inquire at the Rose Suvage for someone of talent there."

*

"This time. I am sure it is the novelty of having a foreign dignitary accompany them to such an event." Aziza smirks as she leans in slowly as she feigns a whisper. "I am sure it will wear off and you will get your chance….or you will just have to be quicker." A chuckle leaves her lips as she steps back to give him his space once more. "But of course I will approach you when I see you. I have enjoyed this conversation so I am sure I will enjoy more." A firm nod is given then as she folds her hands in front of her. "Then I shall. I miss such things when I am traveling….my muscles get so sore when I am practicing my bow that it is a welcome refresher."

*

"Fantastic." Ezio replies as she agrees to visit the Rose. He finally shifts and he says, "Well my Lady, I will indeed be quicker and more patient. Something will happen and I will have more time with you. But for now I do need to spend time elsewhere this day. If you wish to meet again soon, please feel free to let me know. I will try to make myself available to you."

*

"Of course. I should see to my wound being checked." Aziza bows to the man, her hand making a fist as she puts it to her chest. "I appreciate you reaching out to me on concern. And certainly….." Raising her head she puts her hand down as she smiles up at him warmly. "The same offer is extended to you as well. I do not have much to do as of now so I would welcome the company."

*

Ezio bows to her and then he nods, "Of course my Lady, I will see about meeting with you again soon." he smiles warmly to her as he gives her another look and then he steps back and then rotates before he starts to make his exit.
