Background
The son of a courtesan of House Bryony, Renard was as brilliant and beautiful as one would expect. At some point or another, he found himself entering training for House Balm instead of Bryony as one might expect. He took to his service as a novice, and adept and gained his marque quickly in the years that followed. Showing his aptitude for the healing arts over the coming years by both performing his duties and pursuing the chance to learn skills outside of the usual training afforded to those of House Balm.
In particular learning advanced healing techniques, deeper understandings of biology and physiology, and the latest in such studies. He dedicates nearly as much time to learning such things nowadays as he does to anything else, and has helped to improve the healing techniques of novices and adepts under him through his expanded knowledge. His practices including deep tissue massage and improved circulation among the many other practices and his knowledge of herbcraft. In addition, he has practiced quite thoroughly the art of investigation, learning to discern problems with clients that they themselves might be unaware of. Of course, all such knowledge is kept to himself.
He constantly questions every technique developed by someone else, and has very little patience for spending time dealing with anything but learning, teaching or practicing his art. He doesn't like managing schedules or younger novices, which is one of the main reasons he hasn't moved up in rank despite his years of experience.
