Known Information

Nicolette is a novice of Rose Sauvage, one of the fair White Roses fostered on the second floor. As she has yet to debut, she is known for little more than her excitement in meeting new people, and the quirks of her personality.

Background

An Eisandine commoner from the pastoral region of the province. After a bandit attack on her family's homestead which ended in a kidnapping, her kin endebted themselves to their local Baron to get back on their feet. Being the youngest, Nicolette was offered up to the Night Court of Marsilikos to hastily balance their accounts. Rose Sauvage took her into their garden, and there she blossoms as a young White Rose, soon to debut.

Description

Corkscrew twists of hair, cast in lazy spirals like loose shavings of wood, frame the sides of this woman's slender face. Her locks reach toward slender shoulders but come a finger-width short of touching the pale flesh. Delicate, fine-boned features compliment her cherubic blue eyes, while the contour of her nose brings it to a memorable point. The slender lines of her throat present themselves, then yield to the deep dimples of her clavicle and collarbone. Budding contours shape her willowy figure with the bloom of womanhood, though her proportions have yet to cooperate; she's a leggy thing, though the auspices of an elegant figure can be gleaned.

Her clothing embodies the rule of modesty, though perhaps not always the spirit. Hair-coverings and veils opaquely mask her features hidden as often as they transparently tease at them. More often than not, her dark-lashed eyes are ringed with a sooty kohl leads the gaze to her own. Ankle-length gowns and dresses mix colors often enough that when one catches the rare leg-slit or sheer panel, one is left wondering whether the shadows and colors beneath are flesh, or skin-toned pleats of fabric.

Personality

Quirks:

• Animal Lover: Whether they fly, swim, or slither, scuttle about on two legs or four, Nicolette adores all sorts of animals. She has a curious habit of finding even the most irregular animals adorable in some manner.
• Romantic: Nicolette is a proud epicure of romantic literature, though blissfully unaware of its sordid side. As best she can, she collects stories, poetry, and other artistic depictions of love and loss.
• Curious: The world is so large with so many things to see and experience! Half her life has been lived in the countryside, and the other half has kept the city — and even much of her own House — at arm's length.
• Superstitious: Seven years bad luck from a broken mirror? Bad luck comes in threes? A black cat across your path is a sign of witchcraft? Naturally. These aren't folk stories, they're the simple truths of the world. And even if they're not, well… better safe than sorry.

Plot Hooks

• Debut: The big one six! An important moment in a Courtesan's life, and perhaps more so for those of Alyssum canon. Nicolette's sixteenth birthday is less than a month away, and so she has an overflowing interest in meeting all of the Nobles who come visit the wing of the White Roses.
• The Menagerie: The city has so many wonders, but Nicolette feels that it has space for even more. Why not bring the bounty of the countryside to Marsilikos? She dreams of one-day setting up a Menagerie, and filling it with exotic animals, flowers, and fruiting plants.
• Pen Pal: The White Roses of Rose Sauvage are kept secluded from much of the world. Nicolette's curiosity has lead her to reach out for pen pals who may be willing to write — and occasionally visit.
• Collector of Romantic Art: Literature, paintings, sculpture (though the latter two are quite impossible for her just yet), and any other medium, so long as it plays on the heartstrings.
