Unlanded member of House d'Essoms, merchant who has had his base in Marsilikos for a few years now.
Background
Born the third child of a relatively minor branch of house d’Essoms, Maximilien grew up knowing that if he wanted to make something of himself, it would not rest on his title, but on his actions. After all, he had no lands to base himself on. Even from a young age, it was clear that he was not one that got angry easily, usually keeping calm, but on the other hand, he also was a boy that seldom forgave people, instead holding grudges for a long while. Back in those days, he learned a little bit of skills involving fighting, so he should be able to defend himself.
But there were other things young Max found more interesting. Various kinds of mysteries had his attention far more than fighting, as well as developing a skill when it came to more mercantile matters, something he shared with his older brother Stephane. When they got older, the two brothers decided to start their own trading venture, something that has gone quite well since then. This is also the reason why Max has spent some time learning the languages of Skaldia and Caerdicca Unitas, since these areas were some of those the brothers wanted as trading partners.
It was about two years ago that the brothers decided to focus on one area each, with Max moving to Marsilikos to take care of their southern business, while Stephane handled things in the north. So far, the younger brother has spent most of his time with the more mercantile people, although some time has been spent dealing with the nobility as well.
