Known Information
Annais is a novice of Salon de Coquelicot, tutored in a mix of the Balm and Heliotrope canons. As a novice, Annais can mainly be encountered in the Salon where she attends to visitors and help keep the supplies of candles, oils and incense correctly labeled and sorted in their places.
Annais' début was originally scheduled to take place last year but was postponed due to unclear circumstances. Whatever the reason, this flower was deemed in need of one more year to fully blossom. While it hasn't been announced yet, it is expected that her delayed début will happen during the upcoming months.
Background
Annais grew up on the outskirts of Marsilikos as the oldest child to a woodcarver and a seamstress, with two brothers each a couple of years younger. She was a curious girl with a big heart and a fondness for poetry and fairy tales, often dreaming herself away imagining herself in those stories that she loved so much. She was brought into the service of Naamah at age eight, when a member of the Night Court came to her family's house and offered to take her to be trained as a courtesan. The woman had noticed Annais by chance one day while in the area and had returned several times over the the last few weeks to observe and speak to the young girl. Her family naturally accepted the great honor that it was, and Annais was taken to Salon de Coquelicot where the courtesan who had chosen her served as acting Second of the Heliotrope canon. Here she would be fostered and attend her dedication.
Curious by nature and with a youthful naivety that didn't seem to disappear as she matured, Annais got into trouble more than once over the years but always seemed to manage to get around her missteps with minimal repercussions. Around three months before her sixteenth birthday though, she would make the biggest mistake of her young life so far, and there would be no way of getting around the consequences this time. Her big heart and tendency to always see the best in people often made her forget to question the motivations behind the interest potential bidders for her debut showed, and she foolishly decided to accept a risky invitation from one of her admirers to meet them at an inn in town, alone, without her chaperone or any Coquelicot guards. The admirer naturally had intents for more than kind words, but this was thwarted by the timely intervention of a number of Coquelicots who had discovered her escape and had tracked her down to the inn.
As punishment, her Dowayne decided that her debut would be postponed by a full year in the hope that she would learn from her mistakes. She begged, pleaded, pouted and rationalized, but nothing worked and so she would have to wait another year to start on her marque. She has been on her best behavior since the incident, and now, over a year later and only a few months away from her delayed debut, she seems to have been fully forgiven and is back to her normal routines as befits a novice.
